A Better Homes and Gardens magazine came out before Christmas last year with some really neat projects in it. This was one of them. They owl garland was from the same magazine. My friend and I were going to make these but that's when I got sick, so she brought me the fabric in the hospital to cheer me up. It did, but they sure didn't get made then.

For Christmas I made my 3 yr old nieces a few things. It's Christmas/Birthday gift not because their birthdays are anytime soon, but I generally sew for them and I won't be sewing much with a new baby. The dress above turned out the best but gave me the most problems. I was nearly ready to give up. Drove me right crazy. I used the In The Garden dress tutorial by From An Igloo.

I have my new computer all set up and running and, most importantly all of my digital scrapbooking supplies and photos organized and tagged and Photoshop Elements 9 installed. Now the fun begins. I left off scrapbooking about a year ago somewhere in the 2009 photos so that's where I've gone back to. I used  Kristin Aagard's Lil Bakery collection for this layout.

This dress is from the same tutorial as the double layer smocked top. I made the arm holes just a bit bigger so the ties stay up on her shoulders better. I love how this turned out. I think it's my favourite thing I've ever sewn. This material was in the clearance bin. Gotta love that.

The tutorial is at From An Igloo.

Update: you should be warned, these can be very addicting. I made 20 more this week! :o)

This is a project I've wanted to try for a while. All you need is a fat quarter of one fabric and 1/2 a yard of another. I made the first one (the one I'm modeling) for my sister's birthday, along with a set of matching scrappy coasters.  Oh, and don't ask what the heck I'm doing in this photo. That's what you get when you hire a six year old photographer!

The tutorial is from JonaG.
